Harry Kane gives his verdict on Man United's start to the season ahead of Bayern clash

In an alternative universe, Harry Kane may well have been lining up at the Allianz Arena as a Manchester United player.

The English forward, formerly of Tottenham Hotspur, was heavily linked with a move to United in the summer but the funding for the signing was simply not there.

The hardened negotiator that is Daniel Levy would never have allowed the Englishman to join United, particularly with what happened with Dimitar Berbatov back in 2008.

Well, Kane is now at the German champions and he will line up against United and may well be the deciding factor in the game.

United have had a poor start to the season but Kane is eager for his teammates to not underestimate the Red Devils.

Kane on United’s woes

Speaking to Sports Illustrated Germany, Kane was eager to point out that Erik ten Hag’s side will be looking to bounce back ‘in a big way’.

“It’ll be a difficult game,” Kane said. “I know Manchester United are having a difficult moment at the moment, but sometimes teams like that are dangerous because they’re always looking to come back in a big way.

“So we have to be prepared for them and of course, we want to get the crowd behind us as early as possible on Wednesday in front of our home crowd and approach the game with a lot of intensity.”

Kane danger

United will be all too aware of just what Kane can do to their defence. The striker, known for his consistent goalscoring, also has superb back-to-goal play and provided Heung-Min Son with the equaliser in the 2-2 draw last season.

The 30-year-old will be a handful and United will have to be on guard, especially with the pacey wingers that Bayern have.

It seems like it will be Bayern or United for the top spot in the group and Wednesday’s game may go a long way to deciding who finishes top of the group.
