The inaugural Queensland Futsal Cup continues this weekend, with Round of 16 fixtures kicking off following the conclusion of the Preliminary Round.
A new addition to Football Queensland’s futsal calendar in 2023, the men’s and women’s knockout cup forms part of the state’s newly implemented futsal pyramid and is open to all clubs and teams across the state.
“It has been fantastic to see the Queensland Futsal Cup kick off in recent weeks as we provide a new platform for our existing and emerging futsal clubs to showcase their talent,” FQ Manager – Futsal Vince Sciacca said.
“We’ve already seen some high-quality futsal on display in the Men’s Preliminary Round, with Moggill FC, Mount Gravatt Mountains and Brisbane Dynamo making their debut in Football Queensland competitions as part of the Queensland Futsal Cup and the latter two sides securing important wins to book their spot in the Round of 16.
“We’re excited to see our women’s teams enter the tournament now in the Round of 16, and all eyes will be on the Queensland Futsal Cup this weekend with no other futsal fixtures scheduled as our men’s and women’s sides battle it out for a spot in the Quarter Finals.”
The Queensland Futsal Cup Quarter Finals will be held on the weekend of November 3-5, with the Semi Finals taking place on Saturday, 11 November and the Grand Final and Third Place Play-Off on Sunday, 12 November.
