Report: Approaches made for Jadon Sancho as potential Manchester United escape route emerges

Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho is attracting interest from Turkey after his rather public spat with boss Erik ten Hag.

Sunday’s 3-1 defeat at Arsenal was gutting enough as United conceded two injury-time goals to lose in North London.

Things took a bizarre turn after the game with Erik ten Hag publicly criticising winger Jadon Sancho.

Ten Hag told the media that Sancho wasn’t selected for the matchday squad against Arsenal because he hadn’t been up to standard in training.

Sancho responded almost immediately, taking to Twitter to suggest that he had trained well and that fans shouldn’t believe everything they read.

Sancho vowed to always give his best for United but felt that he was being treated as a scapegoat.

Jadon Sancho receiving interest

This situation really exploded on Sunday evening and it feels like there can only really be one outcome – Sancho leaving Manchester United.

The natural assumption is that Sancho will have to wait until the January transfer window in order to leave the club.

However, there does appear to be interest emerging elsewhere right now.

90Min report that United have already fielded enquiries from Turkish clubs as they seek to sign Sancho.

The report adds that Ten Hag is ‘unhappy’ with Sancho’s public response but a departure in the coming weeks seems tricky.

It’s highlighted that Sancho earns around £250,000-a-week and Turkish clubs would surely expect United to pay a hefty chunk of those wages.

Untied have little interest in that arrangement and that means Sancho is now likely to stay put until January at the earliest.

When does the Turkish transfer window close?

The English transfer deadline has passed for incomings but clubs can still sell players to countries where the transfer window is still open.

Saudi Arabia and Turkey are the main two countries here with both of their windows still open.

The Turkish window closes on September 15th, meaning they still have 10 days to get deals done.

Sancho is one target whilst A Spor claim that Fenerbahce are keen to sign Donny van de Beek having already landed Fred from United.

A deal for Van de Beek seems much more likely than a move for Sancho, but you just never know what could materialise.
