Manchester United teenager Omari Forson has been spotted in first-team training as the club attempt to keep him at Old Trafford.
The focus turns to Champions League action now with Manchester United heading to Denmark to face Copenhagen on Wednesday night.
United beat Copenhagen 1-0 in the Old Trafford meeting between the two sides last month, but it wasn’t a convincing display.
Erik ten Hag really needs a positive result here and he has taken promising teenager Omari Forson to Denmark with the rest of his United squad…
Omari Forson spotted in Manchester United training
United were in training earlier today and teenager Forson was spotted alongside established first-team stars.
Forson has bagged three goals and one assist in four Premier League 2 games this season.
The 19-year-old was on the bench for United’s Champions League clash against Bayern Munich in September and could now be in the squad against Copenhagen too.
United have now named a 23-man squad for the trip to Denmark and Forson is confirmed as being a part of it.
An appearance from the bench seems unlikely but Forson has done enough to impress Ten Hag in training today and in recent weeks.
That puts him in the mix against Copenhagen, against the backdrop of United hoping to convince him into staying at the club.
United want to keep Forson at Old Trafford
United’s decision to name Forson in the squad to face Copenhagen comes at an interesting time.
The Mirror report that United are ‘desperate’ to keep Forson with his contract expiring at the end of the season.
European and English clubs are thought to be interested in Forson, so United need to convince him to stay.
Including him in first-team training and the trip to Denmark may well be seen as a way to make Forson believe that first-team chance will come for him down the line.
Cynics will suggest that this is all a calculated plan just to convince Forson, but the teenager has certainly impressed this season and is in the squad on merit.
