Report: Man United 'on the lookout' for Brazilian who is excelling in Serie A

Manchester United are reportedly on the lookout for 26-year-old Gleison Bremer from Juventus if reports in Italy are to be believed.

The Red Devils have recently had to rely on Jonny Evans and Harry Maguire as Raphael Varane’s injury problems continue although he was on the bench against Fulham in the 1-0 win.

Erik ten Hag is reportedly keen on adding a new centre-back to his team next summer and has identified three targets who could work for the Red Devils according to The Metro.

However, there may well be one new addition to the list of targets if the report from Calciomercato is correct.

Bremer interest

Gleison Bremer has recently received another call-up to his national team and will be looking to add to the three caps he has received already.

This call-up, however, is set to attract interest from a whole host of clubs with Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur two clubs who are credited with an interest but United are said to be keen on the former Torino defender, too.

The report doesn’t say the Red Devils are at the front of the queue or that they’ve even made contact with the Brazilian’s entourage, he just seems to be a name on the list of targets for now.

Bremer is represented by CAA Base, who have many Premier League clients including United defender Raphael Varane.

United being used

The Red Devils being ‘interested’ in a player who wants to sign a new contract is nothing new, United have fallen victim to that rouse many times before.

This does seem like it might be another case of exactly this as the report from the Italian outlet also claims that the Brazilian is keen on extending his contract with Juve.

United may well have to look at other options for such a crucial role. One option, who has been heavily linked, is Goncalo Inacio and that signing could be a much more achievable one rather than pursuing a deal for the Brazilian defender.
