Manchester United fans are all saying the same thing about Alejandro Garnacho’s performance v Fulham

Manchester United beat Fulham 1-0 at Craven Cottage on Saturday afternoon after the game, fans have been full of praise for Alejandro Garnacho.

A 1-0 win for Manchester United, at possibly the most needed stage of Erik ten Hag‘s reign thus far. Back-to-back 3-0 defeats left him on the verge of anarchy with supporters growing weary of the manager and his players’ performances.

United saw a poor VAR call rule out an early Scott McTominay goal but had the last laugh in the game.

Bruno Fernandes was the hero on the day, but it’s 19-year-old Alejandro Garnacho who fans were seriously impressed by. After weeks of watching Marcus Rashford struggle, it was refreshing to watch a player who looked like they wanted to be there.

After the win, fans took to social media to display their praise for what they saw from their young number 17.

Manchester United fans react

Garnacho finally got his chance to start in the league, with the absence of Marcus Rashford and he grabbed it with both hands. This has led fans on X to rave about his performance and call for him to start over the Englishman.

Posting on social media, one fan even claimed the Argentine was man of the match as he wrote: “Garnacho man of the match. This lad has more hunger than Rashford.”

Another added that Garnacho deserves to be a regular: “Garnacho should start every week atm.”

A third fan went further to suggest that both our young wingers should be the starters now: “I’d have Pellistri and Garnacho on the wings from now on.”

One fan even explained why Garnacho deserves to start: “Garnacho needs to start the next 5 in a row. He will get better and better the more minutes and trust the manager and players have in him. He has the highest potential out of all our wide players and the time is now to give him his chance.”

Alejandro Garnacho stats

Garnacho, besides the matchwinner and possibly Harry Maguire was the standout player in red against Fulham.

His stats tell that same story, with SofaScore giving him a rating of 7.4 out of 10. He completed 81% of his passes of which there were two key passes which his teammates would have loved.

He completed two dribbles along with winning three free kicks, a real thorn in Fulham’s side.

He also showed passion and desire to be in the team which we needed, as he won eight duels in the game. He deserves to keep his place now, with his performance today better than any Rashford display all season.
