Rasmus Hojlund has candidly opened up on his time at Old Trafford so far, including naming his best friend and funniest player from the Manchester United squad.
The Manchester United striker was snapped up from Atalanta last summer, with the Red Devils paying an initial £64m, plus a further £8m in add-ons, for Rasmus Hojlund.
Erik ten Hag was keen to add an out-and-out striker to his United first team and Hojlund enjoyed success in the Champions League for the Red Devils this season.
Hojlund scored an impressive five times in six appearances in Europe’s elite club competition, despite United making an early exit from the Champions League.
However, the 21-year-old United striker struggled in the Premier League and went his first 14 league matches without finding the back of the net for the Red Devils.
Hojlund weathered the criticism he received and has since turned things around, having had Ten Hag’s complete backing during his goalscoring drought.
The Denmark international has since scored eight times in his last eight matches across all competitions, including in six consecutive league fixtures for United.
Hojlund on his best friend at Man Utd
Rasmus Hojlund’s rich vein of form saw him score a stunning brace inside 10 minutes in the 2-1 win over Luton Town at Kenilworth Road last Sunday.
The Manchester United striker’s stunning run of form has come at the right time, as Erik ten Hag’s men push for a top-four Premier League finish this season.
Speaking to Amazon Prime Video, Hojlund took part in a Q&A series and the Danish forward opened up about his time at United so far.
The United star was asked who his best friend from the first-team squad was and Hojlund picked out Christian Eriksen, who is also his Denmark teammate.
In a clip posted on Prime Video Sport’s TikTok page, Hojlund said: “I think I would go with Chris, Christian Eriksen, because [of the] nationality and these sorts of things, so.”
Hojlund on funniest Man Utd player in squad
Hojlund was asked about the funniest player in the United squad and the former Atalanta man immediately picked Scott McTominay.
However, the United striker didn’t elaborate any further on his reason for choosing McTominay, who has had an impact for United off the bench this season.
Hojlund has insisted that he wants United to make as much progress in the FA Cup this season and ensure they secure Champions League football for next season.
“This was massive today [the Luton Town result], closing an even closer gap to Spurs, who lost some points as well,” he told Sky Sports.
“We need to keep pushing. It’s our target to get the Champions League football and go as far as we can in the FA Cup as well.
“We need to remember that it’s very important for us to win trophies, so we will do everything possible to go and win everything.”
