Jose Mourinho has been discussing Ineos and Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s arrival at Manchester United lately with Rio Ferdinand.
With Sir Jim Ratcliffe‘s arrival getting approved by the powers that be over the past few days, it seems a matter of time until it’s all official.
As this is the case, Manchester United also look set to soon announce who the new sporting director will be at the club. It’s a very exciting time to be a United fan, with groundbreaking appointments like Dan Ashworth being discussed.
Now though, Jose Mourinho has shared his view on the takeover and dropped his verdict on how he sees Sir Jim doing at United.
Jose Mourinho drops his verdict on Sir Jim Ratcliffe arriving at Manchester United
Speaking on the VIBE with FIVE podcast to Rio Ferdinand, Mourinho admitted that he is feeling positive about Sir Jim being in charge at United.
“I think now, Ineos and Sir [Jim] Ratcliffe, I know him well, I know him very well we have a good relation from years ago, I have a very good feeling, he is also a sportsman, he loves it which I think is a very important thing.
“He comes with experience from other experiences, smaller clubs and other sports, cycling, I have a good feeling that things can go in the right direction and I hope so, honestly, I hope so.”
The point he makes on Sir Jim being an already successful sporting man through his cycling and then Nice who are having a great season in Ligue 1 is a good one. We are already seeing the benefit of his experience as he looks to appoint the smartest footballing minds for the job, as opposed to what the Glazers have done.
Sir Jim can’t go wrong when hiring the best
Having people like potentially Ashworth, alongside the already signed CEO Omar Berrada really makes it hard to see United faltering under Sir Jim’s ownership.
Money hasn’t been a problem for United with more money spent than pretty much anyone over the past 10 years, just with little plan on how to use it.
Having what could be the best footballing structure – at least in the league – could change that entirely with some excellent recruitment expected this summer.
It is very annoying though, that the Glazers didn’t think of doing this themselves sooner as it’s something which could have easily been done.
