Man Utd star’s brother breaks silence and raves about £64 player’s elite mindset, he calls him ‘mentally strong’

Rasmus Hojlund’s brother has raved about his sibling’s elite mentality after the Manchester United striker’s rich vein of form at Old Trafford in recent months.

The 21-year-old Manchester United star arrived at Old Trafford last summer after the Red Devils signed him in a deal worth £72m from Serie A side Atalanta.

Hojlund did have early success at the Premier League club this season, with the Denmark striker scoring five times in six Champions League appearances.

However, the former Atalanta man endured a tough start to life in the Premier League after Hojlund failed to score in his first 14 league matches for United.

Despite his struggles in the Premier League, United manager Erik ten Hag retained his faith in Hojlund and backed the Danish forward to turn things around.

Following his initial Premier League goalscoring drought, Hojlund has seen a remarkable turnaround in form and is making his impact felt for United.

The Denmark international has now scored an impressive eight times in his past eight matches for United across all competitions.

Hojlund has found the back of the net in his last six consecutive Premier League matches, including scoring a stunning brace against Luton Town last Sunday.

The Denmark striker has taken his Premier League goalscoring tally to seven in 20 matches this season, with Hojlund also picking up two assists in the league.

Speaking to Danish magazine Tipsbladet, Oscar Hojlund admitted that he missed his brother’s performance against Luton Town due to him playing for Copenhagen.

Oscar, who has a twin brother called Emil Hojlund, said that he caught the highlights from the Manchester United match after Copenhagen’s clash with Silkeborg.

The 19-year-old Danish midfielder insisted that Rasmus Hojlund has shown his elite mentality at United this season and his family are “incredibly proud” of his brother.

“I saw the highlights after the match,” he said.

“The family and I are incredibly proud. He had a bit of a tough start over there and now he has shown how mentally strong he is and has come on top.

“I hope he can continue.”
