Manchester United are one of the clubs who are keen on AS Roma defender Dean Huijsen this summer, according to reports.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos are set to take charge of the transfer business this summer and it seems the incoming Manchester United minority owners are putting the steps in place to improve the club’s transfer success rate.
A new director of football will be appointed soon and reports have indicated that the incoming owners will target young and hungry players to improve the team.
One of these players is reportedly on loan AS Roma defender Dean Huijsen, who is continuing to impress for the Italian side.
Dean Huijsen linked to Manchester United
According to a report from Italian outlet Gazzetta Dello Sport, the Dutchman is attracting interest from several European clubs including Borussia Dortmund but United are reportedly also keen.
Since being brought to the Stadio Olimpico in the January transfer window by Jose Mourinho, the Dutchman has featured in every game for the Italian side and has impressed hugely.
As well as Dortmund, RB Leipzig are understood to be interested in the Dutch defender. The defender is on loan at Italian giants Juventus so they will have to negotiate with the Turin side if they are to sign the 18-year-old.
According to the report, Juventus’ director Cristiano Giuntoli is ‘unlikely to listen to offers lower than €25-30m (£20-25 million)’, but it’s made clear that such figures are ‘far from impossible’ for all the interested clubs named, including the Old Trafford side.

Huijlsen big fan of Mourinho
The Dutch defender was given his debut in Serie A by former United boss Jose Mourinho and it seems the teenager is thankful to Mourinho.
“At the beginning, it was a bit difficult when (Jose) Mourinho left because he wanted me and he brought me here. Right from the start I feel good with (Daniele) De Rossi, he supports me a lot and I’m happy,” Huijsen told DAZN.
Signing an 18-year-old to start in the backline for the Red Devils would be a risk but making this purchase for the future would be a smart move by United and is something they need to do more of.
