Gary Neville shows his class with six-word response after cheeky dig while selling Man Utd fanzine

Manchester United legend Gary Neville showed true class with his reaction after he was hilariously trolled while promoting a popular fan magazine outside of Old Trafford.

Gary Neville has experienced both the highs and lows following his glittering Manchester United career, including becoming a key punditry figure for Sky Sports.

However, the 49-year-old former United captain’s attempt at management did not work out as planned, with Neville’s ill-fated spell at Valencia ending in his sacking.

Neville, despite his setback at Valencia, has pursued different ventures in the aftermath of his football career and even became a co-owner of Salford City.

The ex-United and England star’s business ventures include his stake in Hotel Football in Manchester, which he owns alongside fellow club legend Ryan Giggs.

Neville has also made his stunning appearance on BBC’s popular Dragons’ Den series, with the Sky Sports pundit enjoying his pursuit into different businesses.

Neville promotes United We Stand (UWS) magazine

Gary Neville was spotted outside of Old Trafford on Saturday ahead of Manchester United’s 2-0 win over Everton in the Premier League.

The former Three Lions international showed his support for the United We Stand (UWS) fan magazine by shooting a video for its editor, Andy Mitten.

Neville couldn’t resist the opportunity to poke fun at the United We Stand, saying that the magazine was a “little bit expensive” due to its price tag of £3.

“United We Stand. £3. A little bit expensive,” he said.

Andy Mitten posted the clip of Neville’s promotion on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, but the UWS editor had the last laugh.

The UWS editor hilariously responded to Neville by claiming that the magazine was not as expensive as the United legend’s hotel, which is located next to Old Trafford.

“Not as expensive as your hotel,” Mitten said from behind the camera.

Neville, usurpingly, saw the funny side of Mitten’s cheeky dig and the Sky Sports pundit was left in stitches at the response.

Neville talks his business ventures

Alongside his business in hotels, Neville has been involved in real estate investment and has not passed up different opportunities outside of football.

The United legend admitted that he is “really passionate” about development and loves both the contracting and designing aspects of business.

“I love developing, I love contracting, I love designing. I sat in on every design team meeting like a sponge,” he told the Building in 2023.

“You have to listen and learn. I basically did an apprenticeship through my football career in the afternoons by being on-site and learning as much as I possibly could.

“Football is the number one thing in my life in terms of knowledge, what I understand. After that, obviously, I have got hotels and universities and other projects.

“But I think development is the thing that I am most comfortable talking about and I am really passionate about it.”
