Manchester United legend David de Gea caught the eye of a former teammate after the free agent shared an update on his post-Old Trafford playing career.
David de Gea has been without a club since last July after the former Manchester United No 1 made his exit from Old Trafford.
Talks over a new contract at the Premier League club collapsed in 2023, despite De Gea reportedly willing to take a pay cut to extend his stay at United.
The 33-year-old Spaniard had reportedly signed a contract extension with the Red Devils, but it is believed that United eventually backed out of the agreed proposal.
De Gea had spent 12 seasons at United and made a whopping 545 appearances during his time at the Red Devils after his move from Atletico Madrid in 2011.
The United legend lifted a Premier League title under Sir Alex Ferguson before capturing a Europa League, an FA Cup and two League Cups at the club.

David de Gea has been patiently waiting on the sidelines for his next club after his departure from Manchester United in 2023.
The former Spain international had been linked with clubs in his native homeland, Saudi Arabia, England and in Europe since he became a free agent.
De Gea has teased fans on social media about his time away from the pitch, including sharing footage of him taking part in training drills.
The former Atletico Madrid and United shot-stopper took to social media and shared a compilation of him taking part in training ahead of a potential return to football.
“Ready to rock,” De Gea wrote on Instagram.
Ander Herrera wasted no time in taking to Instagram and reacting to the post left by former United and Spain teammate De Gea.
However, the Athletic Bilbao midfielder left a cryptic comment on De Gea’s training compilation, with Herrera simply responding with a plane emoji.
De Gea told to sign for one club
Celtic legend Peter Grant previously suggested that De Gea would be the perfect fit for his former club after Joe Hart announced his retirement from football in 2024.
Speaking to Go Radio Football Show earlier this month, he said: “I’ve got the throw one out there.
“I look at David de Gea, he’s been training non-league in England. And I’m thinking, ‘There’s someone like David de Gea, a club like Celtic, European football. Would that excite him?’
“Okay, it will cost you a few shillings. But if he’s not going to the likes of Saudi Arabia, because no doubt that’s where he’d get the most money.
“But if he’s taken a year out and all of a sudden wants to get back – big nights at Celtic Park, eight Champions League matches. Would that be something that excites him?
“But that’s somebody I’d be looking at. That’s the sort of personality you’re probably going to have to replace Joe Hart with.”
