Chido Obi-Martin confirms exit
Arsenal had been trying to keep Chido Obi-Martin, but it became clear a few weeks ago they were facing a losing battle.
The Athletic then reported Obi-Martin had visited Carrington, with Manchester United exploring a deal.
Now, Obi-Martin has confirmed his exit from Arsenal with a simple message.
He wrote on Instagram: “Thank you Arsenal”, before wishing coaches, staff and teammates ‘continued success’.
Manchester United await decision
Obi-Martin will now make a decision on his future, which he expected to communicate shortly.
United lead the race for his signature, with technical director Jason Wilcox playing a key role.
Obi-Martin has previously lauded Rasmus Hojlund as his inspiration, and the youngster could soon be playing alongside him.
While Obi-Martin is young, he is a serious talent, who could be expected to be fast-tracked into the Manchester United first team.
This is an exciting potential signing – but let’s wait until it becomes official.
