Furious Man Utd fans all in agreement about Diogo Dalot and Lisandro Martinez after performances vs Nottingham Forest

Manchester United fans were all on the same wavelength about Lisandro Martinez and Diogo Dalot after Nottingham Forest inflicted a 3-2 defeat on the Red Devils.

Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim has now watched Manchester United slip to back-to-back Premier League defeats under his reign at Old Trafford.

United suffered a 2-0 Premier League loss to Arsenal at the Emirates on Wednesday evening ahead of Nottingham Forest arriving at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Forest stunned United within the opening five minutes after Nikola Milenkovic netted in only the second minute at Old Trafford from a corner.

Following Nikola Milenkovic’s header past Andre Onana, United rallied back in the first half and Rasmus Hojlund pulled back an equaliser in the 18th minute.

Despite the 1-1 scoreline at half-time, Nottingham Forest would re-establish their lead only two minutes into the second half at Old Trafford.

Martinez and Dalot vs Nottingham Forest

A poor Bruno Fernandes pass inside the Manchester United half allowed Callum Hudson-Odoi to pounce on the loose ball and find Morgan Gibbs-White.

Morgan Gibbs-White managed to fire a straight shot at Andre Onana and the United shot-stopper had a complete howler against the long-range strike.

Lisandro Martinez and Diogo Dalot were then both at fault for Nottingham Forest’s third only seven minutes after Gibbs-White netted against United.

Diogo Dalot was dispossessed on the edge of the United box and Gibbs-White played in a floating cross to Chris Wood at the far post.

Chris Wood fired a header towards the top right corner and a miscommunication between Lisandro Martinez and Onana allowed United to concede their third.

Bruno Fernandes pulled one back for United in the 61st minute, but the Red Devils were unable to climb back into the contest and Forest sealed all three points.

Man Utd fans react to Martinez and Dalot performances

United fans on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, blasted Martinez and Dalot for their disappointing displays at Old Trafford against Forest.

Red Devils supporters were left convinced that Ruben Amorim must drop Martinez and Dalot from the United starting XI after their performances.

“Lisandro Martinez and Diogo Dalot deserve to be dropped for a few weeks for that performance. Utter shambles,” one fan said.

Somebody else added: “Diogo Dalot and Lisandro Martinez. Absolutely awful today. Onana isn’t far off them.”

A third X user wrote: “Dalot has to be dropped, such a liability and that shot near the end, that was the final straw, I’ve said ever since Jose [Mourinho] bought – not been good enough, he only played loads last season ‘cause everyone was injured. Squad player at best for me.”

“Can’t wait to see Dalot [drop] out of this team, really,” another commented.

While a fifth posted: “Dalot needs [to be] dropped ASAP. Somebody please tell him to stop shooting.”

“Martinez needs to be dropped, horrendous as a channel defender and physical limitations, also helped us concede [two] goals,” another added.

A seventh tweeted: “Lisandro Martinez should be dropped by Amorim. He just isn’t that guy, man. Very overrated, IMO.”

And an eighth said: “So why can’t Martinez be dropped? He’s clearly out of form. Could have cleared on the line for the [third] goal plus his passing is laboured at best when going forward.”
