BBC Sport pundit Chris Sutton has insisted that Manchester United have “many problems” ahead of their Premier League clash against Ipswich Town at Old Trafford.
Manchester United languish in 15th place in the Premier League table and Ruben Amorim’s men are only 13 points clear of 18th-place Ipswich Town.
The Red Devils have only managed eight wins in 26 Premier League matches amid their lacklustre 2024-25 campaign, with United’s top-four hopes all but over.
United are 14 points behind fourth-place Manchester City and the Red Devils’ best hope of securing Champions League football is through the Europa League.
Ruben Amorim’s side salvaged a point from their last Premier League outing during their visit to Goodison Park last Saturday.
David Moyes’ Everton were 2-0 up against United at half-time, but Amorim’s men rallied back in the second half and the Red Devils sealed a 2-2 draw.

Sutton on Man Utd ahead of Ipswich match
Ipswich Town have lost four of their last five Premier League matches under manager Kieran McKenna ahead of their visit to Old Trafford on Wednesday.
Kieran McKenna’s men are five points behind 17th-place Wolves and Ipswich are fighting for their Premier League safety after a disappointing campaign.
Speaking on BBC Sport, Chris Sutton insisted that nobody “fears” Manchester United at the moment after their mixed 2024-25 Premier League season.
The BBC Sport pundit admitted that United deserve “some credit” for their comeback against Everton, but Sutton remains unconvinced by Ruben Amorim’s men.
“Manchester United drew at Ipswich in November, in Ruben Amorim’s first game in charge,” Sutton said.
“Three months on, Ipswich will head to Old Trafford thinking they have a decent chance of beating them. No-one fears United at the moment.
“You just don’t know which United side is going to turn up and, in the first half against Everton on Saturday, they were absolutely woeful.
“United do deserve some credit for the way they fought back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 at Goodison Park but I am not convinced by them at all.”
Sutton makes Man Utd vs Ipswich prediction
Sutton claimed that he expects Ipswich to have many “opportunities” against United and he warned the Red Devils of the threat that Liam Delap will pose to them.
The former Blackburn Rovers and Celtic striker predicted that Amorim’s men will beat Ipswich 2-1 at Old Trafford, despite the problems that United are facing.
“Ipswich ended up losing 4-1 to Tottenham at the weekend but they created a ridiculous amount of chances in that game, and they will get opportunities here too because Liam Delap is such a handful,” Sutton continued.
“A win for the Tractor Boys would be huge, especially now the gap to fourth-bottom Wolves has grown to five points, but despite United’s many problems I just have a feeling Amorim will get a win, somehow.”
