Moments of brilliance continue to rule the roost at Manchester United as their Premier League campaign received a point at Everton in a 2-2 draw.
It was hardly a performance to sing praises about, with Ruben Amorim also delivering a brutal verdict on the same so the road ahead looks long.
This was something Ruben Amorim knew to be true when he walked through the doors at Old Trafford but things have truly spiralled.
In such a time, he can use any vindication or hope that he can get to hang his hopes on, and at Everton, he received his biggest vindication yet.

Ruben Amorim’s vindication against Everton
Amorim has finally started getting caught in the eye of his storm for some of his decisions, like his refusal to use subs vs Spurs.
Against Everton, it was his call to drop Alejandro Garnacho to the bench that raised eyebrows but the Argentinian took it well and had good display off the bench.
However, the biggest vindication in a performance that didn’t offer much was the display from the only player in the Man Utd squad signed under Ruben Amorim.
Patrick Dorgu, restored to the left after a head-scratching debut on the right wing, was full of energy and purpose even in a dour first half where United looked unable to string two passes together.
Dorgu always showed for the ball in difficult circumstances, a sign of his mentality, as he finished the game with 89 touches of the ball.
He was the most fouled player on the pitch, winning five to break patterns of Everton’s pressure. With a remarkable 11 defensive actions in addition to eight ground duels won, he was an all-action monster against Everton.
Patrick Dorgu’s potential offers hope
For a new signing from Lecce who has barely had any time to adjust to a chaotic environment, a trip to Goodison Park is as tough as it gets.
It is a cauldron and embodies the best of the Premier League in terms of fan atmosphere, intensity and physicality.
For Dorgu to walk into the stadium as a newbie- emotions ramped up further due to their impending move away from it- and walk out as arguably the best player on the pitch offers great hope.
Amorim has maintained that he needs time and the need for a rebuild is clear. The trust in Amorim’s vision will only increase if Dorgu, the only signing under him (Ayden Heaven is youth player), impresses.
There aren’t many better places to do that than at Goodison Park. Dorgu’s form and potential offers hope.
