An ex-Manchester United star pulled no punches towards the Red Devils after Ruben Amorim’s men lost 1-0 to Tottenham in the Premier League on Sunday evening.
Ruben Amorim’s side travelled to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on the weekend and the Red Devils suffered another massive setback in the 2024-25 campaign.
Manchester United looked steady early in the Premier League match before James Maddison fired Ange Postecoglou’s men into the lead in the 13th minute.
The Red Devils were unable to climb back into the contest on Sunday and Ange Postecoglou’s side walked away with all three Premier League points.
United’s 1-0 defeat at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has now left Amorim’s men in 15th place in the Premier League table after 25 league matches played.
Amorim’s side are 12 points clear of 18th-place Ipswich Town and have fallen 15 points behind fourth-place Manchester City in the league table.

Ex-Man Utd man’s verdict is in
Manchester United’s Premier League form has been woeful in the 2024-25 season and the Red Devils have only managed eight wins in their lacklustre campaign.
Ruben Amorim’s men will face a tough test this weekend when they travel to Goodison Park for their Premier League clash with Everton on Saturday.
The 40-year-old United manager has seen consistent results in the Europa League and the FA Cup, but the Red Devils have underwhelmed in the Premier League.
Former United player Gordon Hill took to social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, and aimed a brutal dig at the Red Devils’ performance on Sunday.
“We could go to Fantasy Island and still f—— lose,” he wrote.
Gordon Hill added that United could be compared to a Rolls-Royce, only for them to be the “Rolls-Royce club” and for them to have a “mini engine” running.
“As I see it, Manchester United at this moment is a ‘Rolls-Royce club,’” he tweeted.
“With a mini engine. It ain’t gonna work.”
In another separate tweet, the 70-year-old former United winger said: “I would play a 4-4-2. Trusted and tried.”
Hill drops verdict on Man Utd boss Amorim
Amorim has faced an uphill task at Old Trafford since he left Sporting CP last November and replaced Erik ten Hag as United manager.
Erik ten Hag’s reign at the Red Devils came to an end last October after United’s disastrous start to the Premier League campaign.
Gordon Hill insisted that Amorim is not at fault for the current state of United and that the problems at the Red Devils had been there well before he arrived.
“Amorim has come in and trying to put things into play, but it is not happening and he did not realise what a tough job it is,” he said.
“No person or manager could change what has happened only the past few months, this has been there for some time. Before he arrived.”
