How Noussair Mazraoui fared for Morocco in 1-0 win vs Scotland

Noussair Mazraoui flew the Manchester United flag for Morocco against Scotland on Friday night in Boston.

After Noussair Mazraoui excelled against Brazil last week, there was excitement over how he would fare in game two of the World Cup group stage.

Mazraoui started again at left-back against Scotland as Morocco strolled to an early 1-0 lead, which they managed to retain and see out.

Tyler Fletcher didn’t get off the bench, while Scott McTominay didn’t have one of his trademark moments to get Scotland out of defeat.

Mazraoui, however, played the entire game for Morocco, and here is how he got on.

Noussair Mazraoui is great again for Morocco

Mazraoui was sensational against Brazil, and while still good, he wasn’t as impressive against Scotland.

The United number three looked unbreachable on the left for large periods of the game for Morocco, but he did struggle slightly when Ben Gannon-Doak came on to run at him.

Scotland should have equalised, and Mazraoui’s assured nature at the back disappeared pretty quickly when momentum swung to the Tartan Army.

However, it will go down as a successful outing for Mazraoui, and he will certainly earn more much deserved praise for how he managed to perform for Morocco.
