Shea Lacey sends message after first Man Utd appearance in four months, Amir Ibragimov and Chido Obi respond

Manchester United’s U18s failed to win on Saturday, being held disappointingly against Liverpool.

Adam Lawrence will be frustrated on Saturday night as he watched his side outperform Liverpool in every regard in the U18 Premier League.

Despite dominance throughout the game, Manchester United conceded two poor goals which allowed Liverpool to snatch a point.

United drew 2-2 with Liverpool, which is a third successive game without a win for the Red Devils.

Victor Musa was the star of the show with his two goals – but the game headlines were nabbed by the returning Shea Lacey, who emerged from the bench.

Lacey looks far too good for academy football at Manchester United

This game was Lacey’s first in four months, since his brief return from injury back in October – yet you wouldn’t be able to tell with how impressive he was.

Lacey was toying with defenders immediately and cut inside onto his left foot more than once to threaten the Liverpool goal. It looked too easy for the 17-year-old, which should mean his time with the U18s is limited as he won’t learn much from playing at this level.

Lacey’s development over the past 18 months has only been halted by injuries – but every time we see him play he is the best player on the pitch.

Due to this, the Liverpudlian must be called into first-team training permanently while getting up to speed with the U21 side before forcing himself into Ruben Amorim’s plans.

Lacey is among the most gifted in the entire club right now, so if he stays fit it will only be a matter of time before Amorim is impressed and begins planning how to use the forward.

Lacey’s time is now.
