Jadon Sancho has spent the season on loan at Chelsea after being frozen out of Manchester United’s first-team under Erik ten Hag.
Manchester United signed Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund in a deal costing £73 million back in 2021.
Sancho was unable to nail down a starting place in United’s first-team and frustrations grew under Erik ten Hag, who exiled the England international before his return to Borussia Dortmund on loan.
The Bundesliga outfit decided against signing Sancho on a permanent and he was sent on loan for a second time in the space of a year when Chelsea made their interest known.
United’s stance is unlikely to change with Ruben Amorim is in charge, but Sancho has not done anything to warrant a U-turn.
Just like he did at United, Sancho has failed to impress at Chelsea, which has led to further questions over the winger’s future.

Jadon Sancho not wanted back at Manchester United
After a season at Chelsea, Sancho has been unable to convince United fans that Ten Hag made a mistake by freezing him out of the picture at Old Trafford 18 months ago.
Reports recently stated that Chelsea could pay United £5 million to terminate the permanent signing of Sancho. That would see the England international return to Old Trafford.
United still expect Chelsea to keep Sancho by striking a permanent deal this summer. They have an obligation to buy him for between £20-25 million.
According to the Manchester Evening News, United players would have major misgivings about the remote possibility of Sancho playing for the club again as they do not believe he is good enough.
It is noted that influential figures in the United dressing room have no issues with Sancho personally but felt he was unable to cope with the demands of playing for the club before he was shown the door by former manager Ten Hag.
What’s next for Jadon Sancho?
The struggling winger has until the end of the season to convince Chelsea to sign him.
After another international break meant more resting for Sancho, many of his Chelsea teammates were busy representing their countries.
It remains to be seen if the 25-year-old will be able to work his way into Thomas Tuchel’s plans like Marcus Rashford.
Chelsea are back in action next Thursday when they take on Tottenham. A good performance or a goal would help improve Sancho’s reputation among Chelsea fans.
