Manchester United will be delighted with what Real Betis’ vice president has just stated regarding a deal to sign Antony this summer.
Over the past two windows, Ineos have used the loan market to send unwanted first-team players elsewhere in order to hopefully see them build some value and earn a permanent deal as a reward.
Manchester United did this with Jadon Sancho last summer, with his loan going disastrously. Chelsea are considering paying to avoid their obligation for Sancho.
This plan has worked out better for Marcus Rashford, who Aston Villa are certainly going to spend £40m on this summer. Rashford has been key for Villa in their Champions League journey.
Another winning example of this is Antony, who is a hero at Real Betis and has been a completely different player over in Spain. Now, the La Liga side have signalled their intention to bring Antony back beyond this summer.

Jose Miguel Lopez Catalan shares an update on Antony
For Antony, the January loan has reignited his career, and he looks happier over there. Antony has already stated his desire to remain at Betis.
Now, Jose Miguel Lopez Catalan, Betis’ vice president, has spoken with Estadio Deportivo and in doing so shared an update on securing the future of Antony at the La Liga side.
The publication asked him whether Betis were very close to finalising a deal for Antony to remain at the club, to which he responded.
“Yes, we’ve already said it a couple of times. It’s crystal clear. Relations are very good with all three parties, and we’re doing everything in our power.
“Now, we’re going to finish the season, see how we finish and whether we’re in the Champions League or not. Then, we’ll sit down and negotiate.
“It was much more difficult to bring him in in January than for him to stay for another year now. It will depend on many things, but we have options, and we’re very clear about that, of course.”
These comments from Betis will do nothing but hand United the upper hand and raise the price tag for Antony, which the Red Devils will not mind one bit.
Following this, journalist Uriel Lugt has claimed that Betis are actually close to agreeing on a deal to permanently sign Antony.
Manchester United already eyeing huge upgrade on Antony
With Antony looking more and likely to have already played his final game in a United shirt, Ineos can begin to think about how to replace him.
Recent rumours seem to indicate that United have already found the choice to arrive as a No.10, effectively replacing Antony or Rashford.
Matheus Cunha has emerged as one of United’s top targets this summer, with his £62.5m asking price representing huge value for money.
Cunha is one of the Premier League’s best talents, and he’d be a huge upgrade for the Red Devils.
Antony was never going to fit Amorim’s system, and this would be the ideal outcome for all parties.
