Matheus Cunha could be calling Old Trafford home next season if Manchester United follow up on their interest.
Manchester United’s 1-0 defeat to Wolves exposed Ruben Amorim’s lack of goal-getting forwards, with Rasmus Hojlund again enduring a frustrating afternoon.
Pablo Sarabia scored the only goal of the game with a well-taken free-kick, but the Red Devils dominated most of the game without being able to find a breakthrough.
Tyler Fredricson impressed on his debut in defence, but it was at the other end of the pitch where United struggled. Matheus Cunha could be the answer to those issues in the summer.

Ruben Amorim and Matheus Cunha at Old Trafford
In the reverse fixture, Cunha scored against United directly from a corner, but he was unable to find the back of the net at Old Trafford.
Cunha’s agent is set to talk with United about a potential summer move, with reports suggesting Cunha is available for £62.5m when the window opens.
Amorim praised Cunha before Wolves’ trip to Old Trafford, and the two of them were spotted together in the tunnel after Sunday’s match.
Amorim ran to catch up to Cunha in the tunnel, before giving the Wolves forward a pat on the head. Is it a sign that he’s coming in the summer? Hardly. But the Brazilian is clearly appreciated by Amorim.
Matheus Cunha match stats during Man United vs Wolves
On Sunday, Wolves matched Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 formation with Cunha starting as one of the No.10s behind a central striker.
Because he is already familiar with the shape, Rio Ferdinand believes Cunha is perfect for Amorim.
Cunha is eager to leave Wolves this summer and United could be at the front of the queue. With that said, how did he perform during his audition at Old Trafford?

Cunha was impressive with the ball at his feet, completing 91% of his passes and creating one clear-cut chance.
However, he didn’t offer much threat up against United’s academy star Harry Amass, who handled him well when he shifted onto the right of Wolves’ attack.
