The U-20 World Cup is being hosted in Chile and the tournament kicked off in September, which is set to conclude on 19th October with the final in Santiago.

Australia Under-20s have been placed in Group D and Trevor Morgan’s side have suffered back-to-back defeats at the U-20 World Cup tournament so far.
Trevor Morgan’s side lost 1-0 in their opening U-20 World Cup match to Italy Under-20s in September before Argentina Under-20s thrashed Australia U20s in a 4-1 result.

The 17-year-old Manchester United youth academy prospect was called up for Trevor Morgan’s side in September for the friendly match against Ukraine Under-20s.
James Overy was left as an unused substitute for the 3-2 win over Ukraine Under-20s, but he was included in the U-20 World Cup squad for Australia U20s.
The United right-back was on the bench for the 1-0 defeat to Italy Under-20s before Australia U20s manager Morgan turned to Overy for the Argentina Under-20s match.
Overy took to Instagram after Wednesday’s 4-1 thumping at the hands of Argentina U20s and expressed his excitement about representing Australia at the U-20 World Cup.
“Always an honour,” he wrote to his followers.

James Overy played the full 90 minutes on Wednesday and was deployed at left-back under Morgan in Argentina U20s’ second Group D U-20 World Cup clash.
While Overy is preferred as a United right-back in the academy set-up, the Perth-born defender has shown that he can operate on the opposite flank for his country.
Overy, who represented Scotland at youth level due to his mother being of Scottish descent, started his youth playing career in his native homeland with Perth Glory.
The Perth-born talent arrived at Old Trafford in 2024 and Overy has been tipped as a long-term prospect at United, having played for the Under-18s and Under-21s.
