Ruben Amorim got back to winning ways on Sunday as Manchester United came from behind to triumph over Crystal Palace.
Prior to Sunday’s win, Manchester United were heading toward another crisis situation after losing to a 10-man Everton side last Monday.
This looked like it was the case with United losing 1-0 at half-time; however, the Red Devils turned things around in the second-half.
Who was Manchester United’s MAN OF THE MATCH vs Crystal Palace?🤔🔥
Goals from both Joshua Zirkzee and Mason Mount was enough to see United beat Crystal Palace 2-1 at Selhurst Park.
The duo stepped up when United were in need, something that they will be asked to do again over the next two months while AFCON is going on.

Joshua Zirkzee sends a message to Mason Mount
Mount and Zirkzee were two match-winners for United against Palace, and they should both be praised heavily for their contributions.
Well, after the game, Mount took to Instagram to post an image of himself celebrating, and he was hyped up by Zirkzee in the comments.
Describe that finish from Joshua Zirkzee in one word…⚽️🔥
Mount didn’t have a caption, but in the replies, Zirkzee said it all as he wrote, “you’re locked in”, hailing the performances of his teammate this season.
Meanwhile, Matthijs de Ligt commented, “quick feet”, touching on how well Mount did to sneak that shot into the corner.
Luke Shaw sent a heart emoji, heart eyes emoji and flames emoji.
Mason Mount is quietly having a special season for Manchester United
Up until this season, there has been little reason for Mason Mount to be happy with his time at Old Trafford; however, under Ruben Amorim, he really has kicked on and made himself valuable.
Under Erik ten Hag, Mount played 25 times, scoring once and assisting once. Comparatively, under Amorim, Mount has played 31 games already, scoring five and assisting one.
Mason Mount’s Manchester United record by permanent manager
| Manager | Games | Goals | Assists | Minutes | Mins per G/A |
| Ten Hag | 25/66 | 1 | 1 | 982′ | 491′ |
| Amorim | 31/56 | 5 | 1 | 1,259′ | 209′ |
This season, Mount has been great whenever he plays, with two goals now scored in the Premier League, a tally which could grow considerably over the next month or so.
During AFCON, Mount should be starting most games, probably on the right with Matheus Cunha on the left, and this could be when the Englishman makes himself too good to deny for Amorim.
