Senne Lammens found himself on the radar of Manchester United fans after his display in the Red Devils’ Premier League clash against Wolves at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils have found themselves challenging for the Premier League top four, despite their hit-and-miss form under Ruben Amorim in the 2025-26 season.

Ruben Amorim watched his men pick up all three Premier League points at Old Trafford last Friday evening, with United beating Newcastle 1-0 on the night.

United’s result against Newcastle was hard-fought and the Red Devils had to defend their lead in the second half after the Magpies chased an equaliser in the match.

Wolves have been in woeful form ahead of their arrival at Old Trafford to face United, with the club suffering 16 Premier League defeats from 18 matches.

Senne Lammens’ superb display, including his double save in the second half, had Manchester United fans on X making an immediate comparison to David de Gea.

One United fan said: “Lammens has to turn into prime [David] De Gea to keep us in the [match] against Wolves.”

While a second X user added: “Epic double save by Senne Lammens! Clutch performance keeping Man United level against a desperate Wolves side. Reminds me of De Gea’s heroics back in the day.”

“Lammens has got a bit of De Gea in him, but he isn’t scared of claiming the ball and can kick,” a third Red Devils supporter wrote.

Somebody else claimed: “Whatever happens this season, we [did] something absolutely right. Lammens!!! What a stopper; pure De Gea vibes, with a touch of [Edwin] Van Der Sar.”

“Lammens, I’m demanding a DNA test. There’s no way he’s not Edwin Van Der Sar’s kid,” another tweeted.

And a sixth posted: “I feel bad for Lammens, he has to turn into prime De Gea against dead-last Wolves.”

“Senne Lammens is going to fill the shoes of David De Gea,” someone else suggested.

An eighth argued: “Lammens reminds me of De Gea with [those] legs.”

What happened in Man Utd vs Wolves in the final Premier League match at Old Trafford in 2025?

The Red Devils eventually broke the deadlock in the first half at Old Trafford after Joshua Zirkzee found the back of the net against Wolves on Tuesday evening.

Joshua Zirkzee was able to turn and pull off a shot, with the United striker’s strike taking a deflection from Ladislav Krejci before it landed in the back of the net.

Ladislav Krejci made amends ahead of half-time after the Wolves defender rose at the back post and headed a fantastic effort past an outstretched Lammens.

Neither United nor Wolves could take the lead in the second half and the two Premier League sides had to settle for a point from Tuesday evening’s clash.
