Bruno Fernandes looked lost against Leeds, and may need a spell out of the side.
Last week we wrote how Bruno Fernandes’ poor form is becoming a growing problem for Manchester United boss Michael Carrick.
Carrick admitted prior to the Atletico game that Fernandes had been playing through an injury. But he has retained his place in the United line-up.
Fernandes played 80 minutes against Atletico and then 90 in the 1-1 draw against Leeds. His poor form is working against Michael Carrick right now.
He created only one chance in the draw against Leeds, and offered little goal threat. He had one shot on target.
Carrick has tweaked his system, with Fernandes starting out wide. But it feels like a way to shoehorn the captain into the team. And he’s just not playing well enough to justify that right now.
United fans on TalkingPoints expressed frustration with Fernandes, but also acknowledged that the problem is Michael Carrick’s to solve.
