Lisandro Martinez reacts to Manchester United win over Nottingham Forest

Manchester United have beaten Nottingham Forest 2-0 and injured star Lisandro Martinez approves.

A goal from Antony and Diogo Dalot in each half built on a solid defensive effort. A clean sheet was just what Manchester United needed.

With Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane out injured, along with Luke Shaw, it was up to Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof to fill in at the back.

They both performed well, showing why they could be the best back-up defensive pairing in the Premier League.

Manchester United stars react to win

It is tough for any player to sit out with injury and Lisandro Martinez has to deal with this until the end of the current season.

Martinez was at least cheered up by the team’s performance. He wrote on Instagram Stories: “Good Job Lads”, paying tribute to the victory.

His Manchester United teammates also toasted the three points, which moved the side a step closer to securing Champions League football.

United are six points clear of fifth placed Tottenham, with a game in hand. A win over Spurs could seal a top four place.

Casemiro wrote: “Step by step guys. Good job!”, while Antony posted: “What a great performance today! very happy for the victory, goal and assist! 🔥🔥”

Next up for Manchester United are Sevilla, away, and then the FA Cup semi-final against Brighton. The trip to Spurs follows.

It won’t be easy without Lisandro Martinez, but Manchester United bounced back from his loss in a positive way that The Butcher approves of.
