Manchester United have joined the race to sign Tyler Adams from Leeds United after they were relegated from the Premier League.
The American joined Leeds for £20m from RB Leipzig in January of 2023 – but couldn’t help the Northern club stay up in England’s top flight.
Despite Leeds’ relegation, they will still want a big fee for Adams. BolaVIP claims that Adams has a £30m release clause due to his side being relegated.
With Manchester United in the market for a midfielder… could the clubs take a punt on Tyler Adams?
Tyler Adams linked to Manchester United
Well, according to TeamTalk, Tyler Adams has told Leeds United he wants to play in the Premier League next season and he knows a host of clubs want to sign him.
Manchester United have been linked with Adams on a couple of occasions and TeamTalk can confirm they have checked on him once again this time around.
If they were to go for the 24-year-old, they wouldn’t be short of competition from other Premier League clubs.
TeamTalk also reckons Liverpool and Newcastle are interested, with both looking to bolster their squads for the 23/24 campaign.
Adams was one of the USA’s top performers at the World Cup in Qatar, earning praise from writer Wes Rucker for being a “machine” as the United States defied the odds to make it to the knockout stages.
He would be a very surprising singing for the Red Devils, however, he has proven his worth in the Premier League in the short time he’s been there, being probably Leeds’ top performer since joining.
£30 million though? A bit of a stretch, especially after Leeds were set crashing down to the Championship. Let’s see if anything formulates from here.
