Manchester United are still considering a move for Switzerland international goalkeeper Yann Sommer.
Yann Sommer signed for Bayern Munich in the January transfer window, in a £8.3 million deal from Borussia Moenchgladbach.
The deal worked out well, with Bayern winning the Bundesliga, but there is uncertainty over Sommer’s long-term future at the club, with Manuel Neuer set to return from injury.
Now, TalkSport claim Manchester United could be set to revive a move for Sommer in the upcoming transfer window.

Yann Sommer on Manchester United list
Manchester United are on the hunt for alternatives to goalkeeper David de Gea. It is a decision the club can’t put off any longer.
Sommer, 34, is only a short-term option, but he is a viable one, especially if he pushes through a Bayern exit.
One of the reasons a move would appeal is the cheap price, which may be necessary if Manchester United invest a lot of funds into the striker position.
Sommer’s passing ability from the back is part of what also make him an attractive option, and why Bayern felt he was a natural fit to replace the injured Neuer.
Bundesliga.com described Sommer with ‘nifty feet and laser-guided distribution.’
Last season Sommer set a Bundesliga record against Bayern, when he made a league-high 19 saves in a 1-0 win for Moenchengladbach. This played a key part in their decision to sign him too.
Sommer would want assurances he would play at Manchester United, if he was to sign. He wouldn’t swap being a back-up at Bayern to be one at Old Trafford.
Christian Falk wrote on Twitter last month: “There’s a gentlemen’s agreement between Bayern and Sommer that, if Manuel Neuer is be back as number one, the club would allow the Swiss goalkeeper to leave in summer.”
Swiss outlet Blick first reported Manchester United interest in Sommer last August, but the club did not follow it up.
With David de Gea’s tenure at United on a lot thinner ice now, there is a bigger likelihood of a move.
Meanwhile, The Telegraph report United remain interested in Brentford’s David Raya, despite Tottenham making most of the running at present.
