Manchester United are linked with a move for Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund and the plaudits keep on coming in.
Manchester United are set to submit a new offer for Rasmus Hojlund, The Sun report, hoping £40 million will be enough to strike a deal for the Dane.
Atalanta are expected to push for a higher fee. They only signed Hojlund last summer from Sturm Graz and interest is building in the 20-year-old striker.
Hojlund is one of Serie A’s most promising talents, and Manchester United believe signing him now will save money in the long run.

Rasmus Hojlund qualities highlighted
Former Serie A midfielder Francesco Montervino, currently the sporting director of top flight side Salernitana, has been talking up the striker’s attributes.
He is quoted via Area Napoli: “Would I take on Rasmus Hojlund? He’s a player I like a lot, but noticeably different from Victor Osimhen: you can’t afford to give him the ball deep into protection… He’s also faster than Osimhen, but has less power.
“He’s still a strong and very young player, a 2003, so it would be an interesting investment.”
Speed is always a dangerous element to add into the attack, and Rasmus Hojlund is a raw and exciting player who could make Manchester United hard to defend against.
United are low on strikers, with Wout Weghorst’s loan ended, and Anthony Martial regarded as a non-option by many, after his woeful fitness record.
Hojlund appears to be United’s most likely striker addition, currently, providing Atalanta are not totally unreasonable on price.
Even then, due to Hojlund’s inexperience, United could look to sign a veteran striker to share the workload and take some of the pressure off the youngster.
Portuguese outlet JN.pt reported last week that Porto striker Mehdi Taremi is an option. He struck 31 goals for the club last season.
As for Victor Osimhen, the Napoli forward is expected to be too expensive, with the Serie A champions demanding fees far in excess of £100 million for last season’s top scorer.
