ESPN reported just a couple of weeks ago that United were moving away from Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund due to his huge asking price.
That report claimed that United were moving their focus to Eintracht Frankfurt forward Randal Kolo Muani.
The Frenchman was simply ridiculous for Frankfurt last season, hitting 23 goals and 17 assists in 46 appearances.
Kolo Muani would have been a very interesting option for United but Hojlund ended up being the pick.
Sky Sports claim that a £72million deal for Hojlund is now being finalised, meaning Kolo Muani won’t be heading to Old Trafford.
Still, the former Nantes forward could still make a big move of his own…

Foot Mercato claim that Paris Saint-Germain are accelerating a move to sign Kolo Muani after ironically missing out on Hojlund.
It’s stated that Kolo Muani is now PSG’s priority alongside fellow France international Ousmane Dembele.
A deal worth around €70million (£60million) plus bonuses is now in the offing with Kolo Muani potentially tempted by a return for France.
Kolo Muani hails from Bondy, just outside of Paris – the same hometown as Kylian Mbappe.
Mbappe seems to be on his way out of PSG in the near future and Kolo Muani may now become their long-term striking solution.
Both PSG and United looked at Hojlund and Kolo Muani; their futures will now be interlinked, with fans no doubt comparing the duo as they progress in their careers.
