Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the greatest ever players to play for Manchester United.
The Portuguese icon came to Old Trafford from Sporting Lisbon as a young nervous lad, full of talent. He left a footballing god and a United legend.
After departing for Real Madrid and then Juventus – Cristiano Ronaldo eventually returned to his former club, in a spell that didn’t exactly work out as anticipated.
It was here he may have had one of his more embarrassing moments as a footballer.

Ronaldo ridiculed against Wrexham
Anyone who has heard of Ronaldo, which is more or less everyone, will also be familiar with his iconic ‘Siu’ celebration. The forward has made it ever-popular with other players – sometimes to his demise.
Flashback to 2021, non-league at the time Wrexham played a behind-closed-doors friendly against United, in a game where Ronaldo watched on from the sidelines.
A man who played in that game was former Wrexham forward Jake Hyde, who recalled a hilarious anecdote about his team taunting Ronaldo.
“Ronaldo [was] stood there, watching the game from the side,” Hyde told the RobRyanRed Podcast. “So Ronaldo witnessed this himself. Azza (Aaron) did what he does. He got above someone from a corner, and he scored after one minute.
“And he ran off into the corner; all the boys were jogging behind him to congratulate him. He ran off and just went, ‘Siuuuuu!’. All the boys were like, ‘Oh my god, what have I just seen?’. He was buzzing with himself. One of the memorable things I’ve witnessed.”
“That’s a fact, I can confirm,” he concluded.
Ronaldo probably unphased
It’s quite a funny story, but Ronaldo was probably unphased. At the level he’s at, he will have dealt with absolutely everything in regard to taunting. A non-league player will have had little effect on him.
After all, imitation is the most sincere form of flattery.
