Manchester United fans respond to club's official message about Andre Onana

Andre Onana is going through a tough time right now as he deals with the pressure of playing for Manchester United.

Performing for Manchester United brings pressure and expectation like no other club in world football. And there has been plenty of scrutiny on new signing Andre Onana.

Look at the way radio pundits spent weeks bleating on and criticising him for simply shouting at Harry Maguire during a pre-season friendly.

So when mistakes began to creep into his game, it has really piled on. Andre Onana is being self-critical and is adding to the errors, unable to escape a vicious cycle.

Club legend Peter Schmeichel has revealed he is speaking one-on-one with Onana to try and guide him through this tricky period, while the club are attempting to do their bit too.

Manchester United message on Andre Onana

Manchester United earned a dramatic come-from-behind win to beat Brentford 2-1 at Old Trafford on Saturday. This came after a preventable goal was conceded in the first half.

And while Scott McTominay took the plaudits for his injury-time brace, Manchester United made a real point of talking up Andre Onana’s late contribution.

The club sent a tweet praising Onana for keeping United in the game, allowing the late comeback.

:gloves: Paving the way for injury-time drama.

A couple of important stops from @AndreyOnana in the final minutes of #MUNBRE :muscle:

It’s a valid point, and Onana does deserve a pat on the back for the contribution he did made, which has largely gone ignored, with the goal conceded the main memorable feature of his performance.

The way United have served to highlight the positive aspects of his game speaks volumes about the way the club consider Onana needs confidence and positive reinforcement right now.
