Manchester United have had a really poor season, particularly in the Premier League.
The Red Devils just can’t seem to find any rhythm whatsoever. One week they’ll somehow find a result, then the next they’ll put in a seriously disappointing performance.
It’s a very strange dynamic and many don’t know who to blame. Is it Erik ten Hag? The first-team squad? No one is quite sure yet.
A lot of fans are putting it down to a lack of fight from the players, emphasised with the ‘play like you mean it‘ banner at Craven Cottage last weekend. However, a player who is evidently trying his hardest is the club captain – who tops the Premier League charts in an impressive statistic.

Bruno Fernandes most distance in Premier League this season
According to up-to-date research from the Premier League, Bruno Fernandes has covered more distance than any player in the Premier League this season.
The 29-year-old has registered 126.24km to date, which puts him top of the rankings ahead of the likes of Bryan Mbeumo, William Saliba and Lewis Dunk.
Here are the top five in the Premier League this season:
- Bruno Fernandes, Manchester United: 126.24km
- Bryan Mbeumo, Brentford: 121.25km
- Illia Zabarnyi, Bournemouth: 110.88km
- Lewis Dunk, Brighton: 107.04km
- William Saliba, Arsenal: 103.76km
Very impressive stuff from the Portuguese Magnifico.
Bruno’s impressive stat put into perspective
The Premier League also stated this was the equivalent of three marathons, or running from Old Trafford to beyond Leicester. Impressive stuff.
As Robbie Savage said on TNT Sports commentary vs Copenhagen, “One thing you cannot deny about Bruno Fernandes is how hard he works.”
This statement evidently rings true with the statistics to back it up. A few more Manchester United players need to take a leaf out of Bruno’s book. Maybe then the wins would start flowing.
