Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp has been impressed with Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund since he joined the club last summer.
In a season of worries and poor performances, the levels shown by Rasmus Hojlund during his stint at Manchester United is sure to excite the fanbase.
While the Danish forward has failed to net in the Premier League for the Red Devils, he has five goals in the Champions League and is joint-top scorer in the competition.
Hojlund, however, may now be out for a certain period of time after he appeared to tweak something in his hamstring midway through the second half of the win over Luton Town. Hopefully it is just a minor problem.
Redknapp on Hojlund
Speaking to Sky Sports following United’s win over Luton, the former Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool midfielder was thoroughly impressed with the 20-year-old.
“I like his movement and he was unlucky not to score against Luton. It came off his knee or his hip,” Redknapp said after the win over the Hatters.
“He tried to react and improvise. It just hasn’t happened for him but when he gets one, he’ll get two, three and it will start to come.
“He’s got pace and he doesn’t look fazed by playing for Manchester United. He just needs that little bit of luck in the Premier League.”
Hojlund’s impact
Rasmus Hojlund was signed by the club this summer and should really be a rotational option in the forward line at this early stage of his career. But due to a lack of viable alternatives, the Dane has very quickly become a starter at Old Trafford.
As the Champions League’s joint-leading goalscorer, the 20-year-old forward looks like he will be a very successful signing for the present and the future. Ex-United man Paul Scholes was full of praise for the Dane after the 4-3 defeat to Copenhagen.
At just 20 years of age, there is a lot more to come from the exciting Danish forward and the hope will be that his first Premier League goal will finally arrive against Everton at Goodison Park on the 26th of November.
