Kobbie Mainoo could start against Everton

As reports emerged from X account Academy Scoop that Mainoo is in line for a start, fans have been giving their verdict.

One fan replied: “I hope this is true, I’d love to see this lad on the pitch and show the whole world his talent.”

While another suggested that the timing is right for Mainoo: “I think its time considering the injury crisis we have currently”.

With the busiest period of the season on the horizon, another fan suggested we could need Mainoo to be match-ready: “Mainoo should get minutes soon to get him ready for the Christmas period especially where we gonna need legs”.

Mainoo deserves a start – fans must be patient

This isn’t the first time that Mainoo has had people call for him to start a Premier League game, we even wrote an article on why he should before the Luton Town game two weeks ago.

He once again was in impressive form as he captained England U19s to silverware along with two assists midweek.

We don’t expect him to come in and straight away dominate the league, however, what we do expect is for him to show signs and gradually earn more and more game time before finally becoming a bonafide starter.

Fans must be patient and remember that despite his talent and physicality, he is still just 18 and will take time to become the polished final product.
