Manchester United fans vote for man of the match in 1-0 win v Luton Town, with over half the vote

Manchester United picked up all three points against Luton Town on Saturday evening with a 1-0 win courtesy of a Victor Lindelof strike.

Once again, just like last week against Fulham, Manchester United struggled over the line to pick up a 1-0 win over Luton.

Missing four big chances didn’t make it easy for United, but in the end, centre-half Victor Lindelof stepped up and smashed the ball into the roof of the net.

It was a game in which we should’ve seen United score a couple at least, but going the other way, Luton had barely a sniff.

After the win, United fans have been voting for their player of the match…

Manchester United fans vote for their man of the match

Across both the club’s official website and app, fans have been voting for their man of the match.

By a landslide, Lindelof was Manchester United’s man of the match as voted by the fans. It is no surprise as to why he won the vote, after scoring an emphatic winner.

He was also very impressive outside of scoring, dealing with anything Luton had to offer and controlling play with a 94% pass accuracy, along with 117 touches according to SofaScore.

Ten Hag on Lindelof

After the game, Erik ten Hag was full of praise for Victor Lindelof while speaking with Sky Sports.

He first mentioned Lindelof among the three top performers for United: “Yeah it was very good [Lindelof’s finish], and I think they played a very good game, Victor Lindelof with his partner in the second half especially Harry Maguire and also Scott McTominay.”

Continuing he added that scoring was exactly what Lindelof deserved for his performance: “But it is a reward for Victor to play such a good game that you get to score a goal.”
