Tim Sherwood praises one 'outstanding' Man United ace who played well despite defeat

Tim Sherwood has singled out one Manchester United player for praise, despite the Red Devils losing 3-0 to AFC Bournemouth.

Erik ten Hag is a man under pressure for Manchester United as the fans’ dissatisfaction was audible at full-time as boos could be heard when the referee ended the game.

Dominic Solanke, Phillip Billing, and Marcos Senesi scored the goals for Bournemouth and were comfortable in the second half as United struggled for attacking consistency.

it was hard to pick out who performed well for the Red Devils on a dark day for the club but one man in particular impressed former Tottenham Hotspur boss and Gillette Soccer Saturday pundit Tim Sherwood.

United’s one good performer

Speaking on Gillette Soccer Saturday, Sherwood singled out Bruno Fernandes for his performance in the defeat by simply stating: “Bruno has been outstanding.”

It’s hard to disagree with Sherwood, the Portuguese midfielder was one of the only players in the team who was trying to make things happen for the Red Devils.

There were times when the former Sporting Lisbon captain was rushing his play and became more and more impatient as time went on for the Red Devils.

He created six chances for the Red Devils but lost the ball 22 times over the game and got booked which means he will now miss the crucial Premier League clash against Liverpool at Anfield.

United’s attacking struggles

Despite the six key passes the midfielder laid on for his teammates, the forward men struggled once again to create chances and convert the minimal chances that they did create.

When Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund came on, the front line still struggled to create chances but some of the decision-making from the midfielders or the full-backs was, at times, atrocious.

Ten Hag looked on with that frustrated look that the United fans will be accustomed to this season and the Dutchman will have some thinking to do ahead of a tough week.

Bayern Munich and Liverpool are on the horizon for the Red Devils.
