10 goals and assists combined, Manchester United star is rising above constant criticism

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is a streaky player who might just be picking up a little form.

It has been a tough season for Marcus Rashford, who has struggled to replicate the form which saw him net 30 goals in 2022/23, a career best.

Rashford has come in for a barrage of criticism this season, owing to a combination of factors, a lack of goals, and the way he has been showing his frustrations on the pitch.

This week there was some poor finishing against Wigan, he wasn’t the only one, but he was one of the players blasted post-match by club legend Roy Keane.

Marcus Rashford form

It was around this time last year Marcus Rashford went on a hot streak and couldn’t stop scoring.

He is not there yet, but he is beginning to put up some numbers, and make his 2023/24 season look a little more respectable.

After his assist against Wigan in the FA Cup, Rashford is now to up five goals and five assists, taking himself to 10 goal contributions for the season.

Most impressively, Rashford has contributed two assists and one goal in three matches.

Instead of seeing his candle burn out, it is beginning to flicker a little stronger. Not quite a flame yet, but enough to provide some hope.

Confidence player

Marcus Rashford is a confidence player and he will be glad to see his numbers trending upwards. He is only one goal off being the club’s top scorer for the season.

Only one player has more goal contributions, midfielder Bruno Fernandes, who has six goals and five assists.

The criticism will always be there at a club like Manchester United, and Rashford needs to block it out and rise above it. There are some good signs he is gradually getting back on track.
