'Incredibly good' 19-year-old may make Man United debut vs Wigan, spotted in training

Isak Hansen-Aaroen has been pictured training with Manchester United’s first-team as the youngster looks to make his debut for the Premier League giants during Monday’s FA Cup third round clash with Wigan Athletic.

Amid all the uncertainty surrounding the future of one of the club’s brightest teenage talents – Isak Hansen-Aaroen is reportedly ‘increasingly likely’ to leave Old Trafford in 2024 – his possible inclusion against Wigan could potentially begin paving the way for a U-turn.

Hansen-Aaroen, a Norway under 21 international, has not made a senior appearance for Manchester United since joining from Tromso in 2020. A cup clash away to a third-tier Latics outfit may be the chance he has been looking for, however, with Erik ten Hag expected to shuffle his pack and rest a couple of star players.

Debut incoming for Isak Hansen-Aaroen?

The ‘incredibly good’ Hansen-Aaroen was joined in United’s midweek training session by Dan Gore, another hugely-talented young midfielder looking to make the step up from reserve football.

Maxi Oyedele, Omari Forson, Joe Hugill, Shola Shoretire and Sam Murray were also spotted being put through their paces by Ten Hag and co.

Hansen-Aaroen and Gore are, however, perhaps the closest to forcing their way into Ten Hag’s thinking. The latter has already made his United debut during the current campaign. The former, meanwhile, caught Ten Hag’s eye with a fine display in the pre-season victory over Leeds in Oslo, assisting one of the Red Devils two goals in a comfortable win.

“He had a good pass on the first goal,” Ten Hag told the Man United website after Hansen-Aaroen shone on his return to Norway.

“You can see that he is very comfortable with the ball. He also had some nice jabs (passes) and showed good vision.

“He is, of course, a young player. (Hansen-Aaroen) has some small things to work on. But we want to tell him that, show him and then work with him to get the right movements.”
