Roy Keane praises Man United star for 'brilliant' action in win over West Ham

Roy Keane has given his verdict on Rasmus Hojlund’s first goal for Manchester United in their 3-0 victory over West Ham United at Old Trafford.

Rasmus Hojlund has netted his fourth goal for Manchester United in four Premier League games and the 21-year-old is now looking the part for the Red Devils after his latest goal in the 3-0 win.

It had been a very tough start for the Danish striker since his big-money move to the club from Atalanta in the summer but Hojlund has come into some good vein of form lately.

His impudent volley he scored against Aston Villa has proven to be the kickstarter he has needed for the Red Devils and the Dane is now firmly in good form.

Keane on Hojlund

Following United’s win over the Hammers, former captain of the club under Sir Alex Ferguson, Roy Keane, has given his thoughts on the brilliant goal scored by Hojlund.

After good work from Casemiro, nicking in ahead of the West Ham midfield, he found the Danish striker and Hojlund, after cutting onto his weaker right foot, rifled it into the corner past Alphonse Areola to give United the lead.

“It’s poor from West Ham (losing the ball originally) but you’ve got a striker in form in Hojlund and I think this is a brilliant, brilliant goal,” Keane told Sky Sports.

“Cutting in on his weaker side, selling the defender with the dummy and finishing superb. He’s playing with a smile on his face and he’s settling into the club really well now and it was very good from him.”

Hojlund’s good run of form

Prior to his recent goalscoring exploits in the Premier League, Hojlund had shown promise outside of his goalscoring with his linkup play with Marcus Rashford, in particular, being very impressive.

Well, in recent weeks, Hojlund has added goalscoring to the overall package he offers for the Red Devils and it seems for the first time in a long time, United may well finally have a striker for the long-term.

A trip to Villa Park is next up for the Red Devils and Hojlund, who scored his first goal in the Premier League against Unai Emery’s side, will be hoping to repeat the trick.
