‘Very skilful’: Manager celebrates after buying frustrated Manchester United talent on deadline day

Werder Bremen are now celebrating the signing of Manchester United talent Isak Hansen-Aaroen on transfer deadline day.

United have been more than willing to let young players leave the club in recent times.

The number of youngsters let go over the summer was incredible; Nathan Bishop, Matej Kovar, Zidane Iqbal, Bjorn Hardley, Noam Emeran, Marc Jurado, Teden Mengi and Charlie Savage were all moved on as United cashed in.

That approach has continued this month with Mateo Mejia leaving for Sevilla and now Isak Hansen-Aaroen is on his way out of the club…

Werder Bremen celebrate signing Manchester United talent Isak Hansen-Aaoroen

There has been excitement over playmaker Hansen-Aaroen ever since arriving from Tromso back in 2020.

Hailed as ‘artistic’ and even likened to Martin Odegaard by former teammate Ruben Yttegard Jenssen, Hansen-Aaroen looked like becoming a star at United.

That just hasn’t happened though and Hansen-Aaroen has yet to make his senior debut for the club.

Reports in January suggested that the 19-year-old was growing frustrated with his lack of first-team chances and was potentially looking to leave inside the final six months of his contract.

Hansen-Aaroen has now made his move, joining Bundesliga club Werder Bremen on a permanent basis.

Werder seem very excited to have got this deal done with head of football Clemens Fritz suggesting that the Norwegian is ‘very exciting’.

Fritz feels that many other clubs would have battled for Hansen-Aaroen at the end of the season, so Werder feel lucky to have got the deal done right now.

Boss Ole Werner hailed Hansen-Aaroen was ‘very skilful’ and believes that he has the potential to get even better in Germany.

“Isak is a very exciting prospect who has a lot of potential,” said Fritz.

“We’re really happy that we’ve managed to convince him that Werder is the best place for his development. His contract would have expired in summer and a lot of suitors would have been vying for his signature. That’s why it’s even better that we’ve pulled off the transfer now,” said Fritz.

“Isak is a very skilful player. It’s hard to get the ball off and has a good understanding of the game. He’s got a lot going for him already, but he’s got a lot of potential to get even better” added boss Werner.

Hansen-Aaroen clauses explained

Hansen-Aaroen has now left United but there is a chance that he could end up back at Old Trafford.

Rich Fay of The Manchester Evening News reports that United have a ‘significant’ sell-on fee as part of the deal, meaning United could still rake in cash on Hansen-Aaroen down the line.

There is also a clause in which United can match any future bid for Hansen-Aaroen, presenting the opportunity for a return down the line.

A clear buy-back clause isn’t in the deal though, meaning it may be a while before United even think about moving to bring Hansen-Aaroen back to the club.

We know the kind of talent and potential Hansen-Aaroen possesses and it’s now down to him to prove himself in the Bundesliga, providing a great test of his abilities.
