Manchester United's 3 worst players as they taste defeat on Derby Day - opinion

Manchester United suffer defeat on derby day. Pep Guardiola’s side stuck three past Andre Onana to come back from 1-0 down.

It all started so well for Manchester United. A Marcus Rashford belter opened the scoring inside 10 minutes, and it remained that score until half-time.

The Phil Foden arrived. The little magician from Stockport equalised with a stunner, before doubling his tally in the 80th minute to put the Cityzen’s in front.

United played well in parts – but there were some bad performances. Here’s our pick for the worst three players on the pitch in a Red Devils jersey.

Usually one of Manchester United’s most exciting, dynamic forwards – Alejandro Garnacho looked lost against Manchester City.

He just couldn’t get into the game whatsoever and was obsolete for the entire 82 minutes he spent on the pitch.

It was always going to be difficult for the winger given how Manchester United set up, but even when he got the ball, he didn’t paint himself in a good light.

Despite the thunderous strike – Marcus Rashford was abysmal for the rest of the game against the Cityzen’s.

It looked like, after his goal, this could be the game this season to kickstart Rashford’s confidence again, but alas, it went the other way.

He was simply bullied by Kyle Walker all game.

Victor Lindelof

A bold move from Erik ten Hag was to play Victor Lindelof at left-back, despite Sofyan Amrabat performing very well in midweek.

This, ultimately, did not pay off. The Swede looked extremely uncomfortable and Foden caused him nightmares.

In fairness, it isn’t his position. The real thing to take from this is how many injuries knackered us throughout this season. Lindelof at left-back should simply never be happening.
