Lisandro Martinez reacts to seeing Man Utd star's training pictures, Arsenal striker praises 'cold' images

A selection of Manchester United’s players are preparing to return for pre-season training.

While some Manchester United players are still away at Euro 2024 and the Copa America, others are preparing to return to Carrington on July 8.

One of the players waiting to make his comeback is Mason Mount, who is looking for a totally fresh start after an injury-hit 2024/25.

The midfielder was plagued by multiple injuries, but also struggled to fit into the team, with Paul Scholes among those who questioned where Mason Mount fits into the Manchester United team.

Mason Mount gears up for return

Mason Mount has recovered from the injury which caused him to miss the 2024 FA Cup Final at Wembley.

He is expected in the first group of players back at Carrington, having failed to make the England squad for the European Championships.

Mount has been busy getting into top shape and shared images on social media showing his ripped physique as he gears up for 2024/25.

One Manchester United teammate responded to Mount’s post, and that was centre-back Lisandro Martinez, currently away at the Copa America.

Martinez reached out with two ‘strong arm emojis’, while Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah also left a one-word message which read ‘cold’.

A while before Martinez and Mount are back together

Lisandro Martinez has been in excellent form for Argentina at the Copa America, scoring in their quarter-final victory over Ecuador.

Yet this means the former Ajax centre-back could be a way off returning for Manchester United’s 2024 pre-season.

The final takes place on July 15, the same day as Manchester United’s first pre-season game against Rosenborg.

Martinez will get a fortnight off after the Copa America, meaning it could be August when we see him wearing Manchester United’s new kit.

By that time, Mason Mount will hopefully have made some progress and started showing what he is all about, as he prepares to don the number seven shirt once again.
