Lionel Messi gives verdict on Alejandro Garnacho's 2024, it says a lot about the Man United star

Lionel Messi has given his verdict on Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho and it says a lot about the United academy graduate.

Since breaking through into Manchester United’s first team, winger Alejandro Garnacho has made quite an impact on the Red Devils at Old Trafford.

Under former manager Erik ten Hag, Garnacho became a key figure for the Red Devils with the Argentine making quite an impact and scoring key goals in the process.

This campaign has been a successful one for Garnacho. The winger has scored six goals and provided four assists for the Red Devils, and it appears Lionel Messi is a fan of the United academy graduate.

Lionel Messi gives Alejandro Garnacho verdict

Garnacho has frustrated fans at times with his inconsistent performances but it is easy to forget that the Argentine is just 20 years of age.

After United’s 2-0 victory over PAOK in the UEFA Europa League, fans of the Red Devils were underwhelmed with Garnacho’s performance at Old Trafford.

However, one man who has seemingly not been underwhelmed by the performances of Garnacho is arguably the greatest footballer of all time Lionel Messi.

According to a report from French outlet L’Equipe, Messi voted Garnacho in third place for the 2024 Kopa Trophy which shows just how much the former Barcelona ace rates the United winger.

As well as Messi, former Dutch striker Marco van Basten voted Garnacho in 2nd for the 2024 Kopa Trophy whilst former Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema voting the winger in third place.

Alejandro Garnacho has to have big season at Manchester United

Whilst his output has been good this season, the performances of Garnacho have not been consistent enough for the Red Devils.

The question persists about how Ruben Amorim will fit in all three of United’s wingers with Garnacho, Amad Diallo and Marcus Rashford and it seems one man will miss out as a result of this.

For Garnacho, the Argentine has scored goals and provided assists but becoming a consistent 7/10 is vital for the exciting winger.
