MUTV pundit lauds 'absolutely brilliant' moment from Man Utd wonderkid - Ruben Amorim would have loved it

The Manchester United academy boasts some of the best young talents in the country across various positions on the pitch.

Adam Lawrence’s U18s in particular appear to be a never-ending conveyor belt of talent, with sublime options across the pitch.

For Manchester United, there are some big names in the academy that everybody is expecting to do well, the likes of Chido Obi and Shea Lacey spring to mind.

However, some players may not be a name fans are clamouring over initially, but soon show the required ability to push for the first team.

Jack Moorhouse fits into this bubble, having not received an awful lot of hype among the fanbase until recently – due to injuries – but now he is set to be involved for United’s senior side on Sunday.

Now, after a fantastic performance midweek during United’s 5-1 thrashing of Chelsea, another United prospect has once again impressed this weekend.

Jaydan Kamason leaves MUTV’s Liam Bradford amazed

Manchester United’s U18s faced Newcastle on Saturday, drawing 0-0 at Carrington in a disappointing result which deserved more.

However, there were moments of real quality, with Lacey catching the eye after coming on.

At the other end of the pitch, it was another strong display by Jaydan Kamason.

Late in proceedings, with the scores tied, Newcastle were through one-on-one after James Bailey was caught in possession.

Kamason was the one player to get back, making a perfectly timed tackle which killed the move. After this happened, MUTV’s Liam Bradford was raving on commentary.

“Absolutely brilliant from Jaydan Kamason. He’s done ever so well there breaking his neck to get back. He’s run his legs off to get back, done really well.”

This moment follows Kamason’s two-assist outing against Chelsea as he continues to impress this season. Perhaps with the injury crisis, United will call on Kamason sooner than expected.

Ruben Amorim would have loved Kamason’s game-saving action

Ever since Ruben Amorim was appointed, he has highlighted the need for physicality and intensity within his team. These qualities have been named in Amorim’s demands for summer signings in 2025, yet the academy already has players with these skills.

Kamason showed intensity here, in a week when Amorim is expected to use the academy for the very first time.

This summer United are expected to break the bank to sign Geovany Quenda to occupy the right wing-back position for Amorim, yet it is a role Kamason is showing potential in.

Kamason can defend very well, has the physicality qualities and also has quality going forward having scored once and assisted four times this season for the U18s already as a right-back.
