Rio Ferdinand shares blunt two-word verdict after Manchester United's latest home defeat

Manchester United have slumped to yet another home defeat under Ruben Amorim, losing 2-0 at the hands of Crystal Palace.

Ruben Amorim needs time at Manchester United but his home record is just getting worse and worse.

Amorim has won just two home league games since becoming United boss back in November.

Everton and Southampton were beaten but United have lost to Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth, Newcastle United, Brighton and Hove Albion and now Crystal Palace at home.

Jean-Philippe Mateta scored twice to hand Palace all three points at Old Trafford and inflict another defeat on Amorim.

United now sit 13th in the Premier League table with just 29 points from 24 games.

Rio Ferdinand shares blunt verdict on Manchester United defeat

United seemed to take a step forward – admittedly a small one at that – with last week’s 1-0 win over Fulham.

The performance wasn’t great but United at least managed to grind out the win.

United created chances but failed to find the net and were eventually made to pay by Palace and Mateta.

United just can’t seem to build any momentum under Amorim and Sunday’s defeat was another step back.

Old Trafford used to be a fortress for United but losing so many home games is a huge concern – and Rio Ferdinand isn’t impressed.

Ferdinand experienced years of home dominance at United and has taken to X to simply post ‘same story’ after United’s latest home defeat.

Ferdinand is no doubt sick of seeing United losing at Old Trafford with five defeats in the last six home games.

Manchester United’s upcoming home games

United’s next home game comes on Friday night with Ruud van Nistelrooy’s Leicester City the opponents in the FA Cup.

In terms of Premier League action, United aren’t at home again until February 26 when Ipswich Town visit.

Ipswich away was Amorim’s first game in charge and he will now take on former United coach Kieran McKenna at Old Trafford.

United then host Arsenal on March 9 before Manchester City head to Old Trafford on April 5.

There are just six home Premier League games to go for United this season and Amorim will at least hope for some signs of progress before next season.
