Rangers icon Ally McCoist has revealed that one of Sir Alex Ferguson’s world-class Manchester United legends would make his best-ever Premier League front three.
Sir Alex Ferguson had a legendary managerial career during his time with Manchester United in England and with Aberdeen in his native homeland of Scotland.
The 83-year-old iconic Scotsman is widely regarded as one of the best managers of all time and Ferguson was never short of incredible attacking talent at Old Trafford.
Ferguson led United to their iconic treble win in 1999 and the legendary former Aberdeen boss also lifted a whopping 13 Premier League titles with the Red Devils.
The United legend’s trophy haul at Old Trafford included two Champions League trophies, five FA Cups and four League Cups ahead of his retirement from football.
The Red Devils lifted their last Premier League title in the 2012-13 campaign before Ferguson subsequently bowed out of the club as United manager.

Ally McCoist includes Man Utd legend Cristiano Ronaldo in three-man Premier League pick
Speaking on talkSPORT, Ally McCoist revealed that his picks for the best forwards in Premier League history would include Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo.
Cristiano Ronaldo first arrived at Old Trafford in 2003 from Sporting CP and the former Real Madrid and Juventus superstar had a sensational impact in England.
During his first United spell, the 40-year-old Portuguese forward lifted the first of his five Ballon d’Or awards under former United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
Ronaldo lifted three consecutive Premier League titles, a Champions League, an FA Cup and two League Cups ahead of his blockbuster move to Real Madrid in 2009.
The Al Nassr skipper was one of the four world-class United players that Ferguson said he had managed during his legendary 26-year reign at Old Trafford.
“I don’t think Harry Kane is getting in it,” McCoist said.
“Mohammed Salah’s not getting in it… So, Liverpool fans will have Mo Salah as an all-time great; who am I to say he’s not?
“For example, where it’s a conversation, my front three I’d have Alan Shearer through the middle because his stats as a centre-forward are incomparable to anybody’s.”
The talkSPORT pundit added: “I’m playing Thierry Henry on one side; of course, I’m playing Cristiano Ronaldo on the other side.
“There’ll be Liverpool fans out there saying Salah has to play; there’ll be Chelsea fans saying Didier Drogba must play through the middle.
“It’s a brilliant discussion and argument because you could pick yours, and it could be three completely different players. If I’m just talking all-time greats, it’s those three.”
Ally McCoist overlooked Man Utd legend Wayne Rooney in top three Premier League forwards of all time
Newcastle legend Alan Shearer was always likely to be McCoist’s top pick due to the former England striker being the Premier League’s all-time leading scorer.
McCoist mentioned Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane among the candidates, but the Rangers legend should have considered Wayne Rooney as an option as well.
Harry Kane narrowly edged out Wayne Rooney in the all-time leading scorers in the Premier League ahead of leaving Tottenham and signing for Bayern Munich.
Rooney is one of the best strikers in Premier League history and could challenge Alan Shearer for the leading spot, despite being behind him in the goalscoring chart.
The former United striker is now criminally underrated amid the current football discourse and Rooney excelled from a young age after his emergence at Everton.
Rooney arguably sacrificed the opportunity to eclipse Shearer as the Premier League’s all-time leading scorer by dropping deep to help his team out.
