Amidst all the noise, Dimitar Berbatov has backed him for doing the one thing that has directed the most criticism towards him.

He said: “It’s up and down but hopefully, they can finish the season on a strong note and then start the next one. At the moment he’s sticking with the system that he believes will bring success to Man Utd.
“That is a credit to him because it shows his principles.”

Amorim has already given away the fact that he knows what’s being said and written about him, especially from ex-players.
Therefore, he’s likely to feel vindicated upon listening to Berbatov’s comments because they come at a time when his methods are starting to bear fruit.
United played some of their best football under Amorim in the fixtures leading up to the international break, with consistent, front-footed attacking football combined with defensive solidity.
