Manchester United are in desperate need of a top-class striker this summer and it is down to Ineos to identify a top target.
There have been clear signs of progress at Manchester United under Ruben Amorim in recent weeks, but one problem has been persistent.
United are struggling to score goals, with Rasmus Hojlund in particular falling short of expectations with only three Premier League goals to his name.
Summer signing Joshua Zirkzee is viewed as a No.10 by Amorim, so the Portuguese coach will desperately want reinforcements up front in the summer.
United remain interested in Viktor Gyokeres but it seems the Swedish star is not at the top of Ineos‘ transfer list. They may want to reconsider that stance after the Sporting star smashed his own record.

Ineos not keen on Viktor Gyokeres as No.1 target
Viktor Gyokeres was the star of Amorim’s title-winning Sporting Lisbon side, and the 26-year-old scored 66 goals in 68 games under the Portuguese coach.
Amorim is keen to reunite with Gyokeres in Manchester, but it seems Ineos have other plans.
Transfer expert Graeme Bailey exclusively told United in Focus that Ineos want Victor Osimhen as their priority striker target this summer.
If United hesitate in the summer, Gyokeres could join Arsenal instead with United’s rivals showing keen interest in his signature.
Allowing Gyokeres to slip through their fingers would be a major mistake for Ineos, especially as he only seems to be getting better and better in Portugal.
Viktor Gyokeres smashes goal record at Sporting
Gyokeres put his name up in lights last season when he scored 43 goals across all competitions for Sporting as they went on to win the league title with Amorim.
It was then that Gyokeres began to be linked with a move to European giants, including United – but there was understandably some concern that he might not replicate those numbers again.
However, Gyokeres has gone one step further and actually improved on his goal tally from last season.

Sporting drew 1-1 with Braga on Monday evening and Gyokeres opened the scoring after just 15 minutes – it was his 44th goal of the season across all competitions, eclipsing his previous record.
There have been reports that Ineos are concerned by Gyokeres’ age, but he is proving at Sporting that he is only getting better.
